This 4th floor 1,500SF private rooftop was transformed from an unfinished 'blank space' to the client's favorite place. The space features an operable shade structure that provides protection from the elements while maintaining an open-air feel.
The operable shade structure features button-controlled louvers that can be adjusted to control sunlight and airflow. With the touch of a button, the homeowner can open or close the louvers to create the perfect outdoor environment.
Material differentiation across the rooftop creates distinct outdoor 'rooms' - porcelain tile for the main entertaining area, synthetic decking for lounging, and turf for a soft green surface. Each zone is designed for a specific purpose while maintaining visual cohesion.
Playful porcelain tile details on the outdoor kitchen backsplash and planter cladding add personality and color to the space. Lush vegetation integrated into custom planters brings natural beauty to this urban retreat.
