That 100-amp panel from 1975 wasn't designed for today's loads. Central air, EV chargers, home offices, hot tubs, kitchen appliances—modern homes demand more power than older electrical systems can safely deliver. Tripping breakers and warm panels are warning signs. A proper upgrade solves the problem before something fails.
We replace outdated fuse boxes and undersized panels with modern 200-amp service. This involves coordination with ComEd for the meter and service drop, a new panel with room for expansion, and updated grounding. If your service entrance cable is aluminum or undersized, we replace that too. Every upgrade gets permitted and inspected—no shortcuts that create problems during a sale or insurance claim.
Beyond capacity, modern panels offer safety features old equipment lacks. Arc-fault breakers protect against electrical fires. Whole-house surge protection guards expensive electronics.
