Gas Line Installation

For grills, fire pits, heaters

Outdoor Gas Infrastructure

High-BTU outdoor appliances—built-in grills, fire pits, patio heaters, outdoor fireplaces—demand properly sized gas supply lines. The standard gas stub from your house is often insufficient for these loads. A 72,000 BTU fire table combined with a 60,000 BTU grill requires a direct feed from the meter with line sizing calculated for the total load and run distance. Undersized lines cause weak flames, appliance malfunction, and safety hazards.

Gas line sizing depends on total BTU demand, distance from the meter, and the number of turns in the run. We calculate loads for all planned appliances, select appropriate pipe materials—black iron, corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST), or polyethylene for underground runs—and route lines to minimize visible runs on your deck. Connection points are located exactly where your grill station, fire feature, and heaters will be installed.

All gas work requires permits and passes city inspection, including pressure testing at 40 times working pressure to verify line integrity. We coordinate with Chicago inspectors and handle permit applications with the required documentation: appliance BTU ratings, line sizing calculations, pipe materials, and run lengths. Licensed gas fitters complete all connections to ensure safe, code-compliant operation.
